Lora specimen from Fontshare

A contemporary text serif by Olga Karpushina and Alexei Vanyashin for Cyreal, combining calligraphic brushed curves with upright driving serifs for body text use.

About

Designed by Olga Karpushina and Alexei Vanyashin and released in 2011, Lora pairs brushed, calligraphic curves with firm, contrasting serifs to give running text a distinct but unobtrusive character. Eight static styles run from Regular to Bold with matching italics, alongside variable font versions. Optimised for screen while performing equally well in print, it suits editorial, publishing and long-form digital work.

Classification

A contemporary text serif with calligraphic roots, moderate stroke contrast and bracketed serifs, placing it between humanist and transitional classifications.
