Oswald
Fontshare · Vernon Adams, Kalapi Gajjar, Cyreal · 2022

A reworking of the Alternate Gothic tradition, redrawn for screen legibility across six weights with variable font support.
About
Designed by Vernon Adams, Kalapi Gajjar and Cyreal, Oswald takes the condensed uppercase-heavy rhythm of American gothic sans-serifs and redraws it for digital screens at standard pixel densities. Six static weights run from Extra Light to Bold, with a variable font covering the full range. It is built for headline and display use across web, poster and editorial contexts.
Classification
Oswald is explicitly described as a reworking of the classic gothic typeface style, referencing Alternate Gothic as a direct precedent. Its condensed, upright letterforms place it firmly in the American gothic sans tradition.
