A neutral grotesque developed by the United States Web Design System, derived from Libre Franklin and built for interfaces and running text.

About

Commissioned by the US Web Design System and based on Libre Franklin, this is a no-frills grotesque aimed squarely at digital interfaces and government web properties. The family runs to nine weights from Thin to Black, each with a matching italic, plus two variable font files covering the full weight range. At 18 static styles and a clean 648-glyph set, it covers standard Latin requirements without ornamentation.

Classification

Derived from Libre Franklin, itself rooted in the American grotesque tradition; designed explicitly for neutral, utilitarian performance across interfaces and text.
