Alkaline specimen from Fort Foundry

A mid-century-inspired casual script with a 18° camber, developed in collaboration between Fort Foundry and letterer Jonathan Ball.

About

Drawn from mid-century lettering and kitchen appliance logos, Alkaline pairs playful informality with considerable OpenType functionality: contextual and stylistic alternates, full ligature support and an all-caps companion family. Five weights from Regular to Heavy are available across both the standard and Caps subfamilies, giving designers ten styles in total. Broad Latin Extended language coverage makes it a practical choice for international work that still wants warmth and character.

Classification

Categorised as Script by the foundry; inspired by mid-century lettering and logos, it has a casual, connected letterform style with a pronounced forward slant typical of informal script typefaces.
