Cinder
Fort Foundry · Mattox Shuler

A blackletter display face by Mattox Shuler, drawn from mid-century animation titling and built around small caps in place of lowercase.
About
Cinder draws on titling and lettering from 1950s animated films, reinterpreting blackletter conventions for contemporary display use. In place of a traditional lowercase, it uses small caps, which can be set alongside the uppercase in the conventional manner, used independently as an all-caps style, or flipped to centred alternates for a more playful effect. The two styles, Regular and Italic, suit titles, short-form copy and name treatments rather than extended text.
Classification
Fort Foundry categorises it explicitly as blackletter. It takes cues from mid-century animation titling and interprets blackletter conventions for display and titling use rather than continuous text.
