Designed by Brian Brubaker and Mattox Shuler in collaboration with Commonwealth // McCann, Pentz takes its cues from the lettering on Marvin Gaye's What's Going On album cover, where the original Tedesca type was freely adapted by cover designer Curtis McNair. The Classic style hews closer to the historical source, while Regular introduces a more restrained and reimagined treatment. OpenType features include uppercase and lowercase alternates, case-sensitive punctuation and fractions, with broad Latin extended language support.
