About
Built on monolinear strokes and clear geometric forms, Averta PE draws on the constructed grotesque tradition of early twentieth-century Central Europe, with open apertures and alternate characters borrowed from Anglo-American gothics adding warmth to the upright styles. The italics deliberately avoid compass-and-ruler geometry, introducing a humanist quality that distinguishes them from the roman. Cyrillic support earned third place at the 2017 Granshan Awards, and the family includes localised forms for Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian and Serbian.
