Evert PE specimen from Foundry Five

A 48-style grotesque by Kostas Bartsokas spanning three optical sizes, drawing on Miller and Richard's Grotesque No.1, Antique Olive and FF Balance to produce a typeface with both rigidity and humanistic warmth.

About

Designed by Kostas Bartsokas and released in 2024, Evert PE covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic across 381 languages in three optical sizes: Text, a plain intermediate and Display. Eight weights run from Thin to Black with matching italics, and the family is also available as a variable font. It earned a TDC Certificate of Typographic Excellence in 2025 and a merit from Communication Arts the same year, with OpenType features including old-style numerals, tabular figures and discretionary ligatures.

Classification

Evert PE draws from early grotesque traditions, citing Miller and Richard's Grotesque No.1, Antique Olive and FF Balance as influences, resulting in a humanist-inflected grotesque with experimental touches.
