About
Designed by Mohamad Dakak and reviewed by Gerry Leonidas, Jali began as a graduation project addressing the shortage of readable Arabic typefaces before expanding into a full multi-script family. Low-contrast strokes, ample counters and carefully distinguished letterforms make it well suited to signage, transport environments and demanding editorial settings. The Latin cut covers 332 languages across 16 upright and italic styles, and the family earned a TDC Certificate in Typographic Excellence and a Granshan 1st Prize, both in 2019.
