About
Named after the olivine mineral found in Lanzarote's lava fields, Peridot Latin is a thoroughly developed sans serif type system released in 2022 by Foundry Five. Six width variants run from Compressed to Extended, each with ten weights and matching italics, amounting to 120 static styles plus variable fonts. Vietnamese and over 320 languages are supported, alongside tabular figures, currency symbols, fractions and discretionary ligatures, making it viable across branding, editorial, advertising and screen contexts.
Classification
A multi-width sans serif with humanist proportions and warmth, avoiding strict geometric or grotesque rigidity. The range of widths and stylistic variants points to a flexible humanist-influenced system.
