Amulet specimen from G-Type

A Celtic uncial display face inspired by ancient Irish manuscripts and the Book of Kells, intended for headlines, posters and film titles.

About

Drawn after a visit to Dublin and a study of manuscript traditions at Trinity College, Amulet takes the uncial letterform as its basis and inflects it with Gaelic calligraphic character. The single Medium weight suits large-scale headline use where its scribal, monastic quality can read clearly. The foundry notes an almost Arabic flavour in certain letterforms, giving the face an ambiguity that extends its range beyond strictly Celtic contexts.

Classification

Amulet is an uncial display typeface with Celtic calligraphic roots, drawing on the Gaelic manuscript tradition rather than any conventional serif or sans-serif structure.
