Based on Nick Cooke's own handwriting with a fountain pen held at an unconventional angle, the reversed stress gives Goskar an unusual energy distinct from most calligraphic scripts. Four weights from Light to Black are available as standard OpenType fonts, with a single-axis variable font bundled free with the family pack for intermediate weight control. The character set is unusually generous, including small caps, arrows, emoticons, underlines, fractions and a broad range of contextual alternates and ligatures that sustain the impression of genuine handwritten flow.
