Kosmos
Good Type Foundry · 2022

An experimental display system of 10 weights built on overlapping shapes that progress from faint and subtle to a deliberately unreadable mass.
About
Kosmos treats weight not as a measure of stroke thickness but as a degree of overlap, starting with a light, ghostly presence and accumulating into dense, illegible muddiness at its heaviest. The ten styles are named Misty and Boggy at the lighter end, suggesting atmosphere over utility. Coverage is limited to European Latin with uppercase, lowercase, accented glyphs and standard punctuation.
Classification
Kosmos is built around overlapping, expanding shapes that intentionally dissolve into illegibility at heavier weights, placing it firmly in experimental display territory with no conventional classification equivalent.
