Noto Sans Avestan addresses the Unicode encoding of the Avestan script, used historically for transcribing Zoroastrian religious texts. Available in a single weight only, its application is inherently narrow, serving academic linguistics, historical research, and religious publishing. The design follows the Noto philosophy of neutral legibility, keeping ornamentation to a minimum.
