About
Created as a custom branding typeface for a finance sector client, the design imitates the semi-cursive handwriting of a professional signing documents with an oblique-nibbed fountain pen. Hundreds of handwritten samples were produced before a final reference was settled upon, with the full alphabet extrapolated from that single chosen example. Naturalness is achieved through an extensive OpenType system of positional and randomised alternates, including 8 variants of the lowercase 'a' and 135 glyphs covering just 26 lowercase letters, ensuring no two consecutive letters appear identical.
