Synthetica

A variable sans-serif that merges geometric construction with calligraphic contrast, producing stencil-like open strokes in lighter weights and dense rectangular counters in heavier ones.
About
Built on a humanistic contrast model, Synthetica uses straight lines and tense curves to produce letterforms that shift dramatically across its weight range. At lighter settings, strokes separate into stencil-like gaps; at heavier settings, counters close into compact rectangular voids. Variable axes for weight, width and slant are supplemented by stylistic sets offering cursive alternates for a, g, f, l and y.
Classification
Described as fusing geometry and calligraphy on a humanistic contrast model, placing it firmly in the humanist sans tradition despite its unconventional construction with straight lines and tense curves.
