Mercury Text specimen from Hoefler & Co

A newspaper text serif drawn in four grades to hold up across different inks, papers and press conditions in high-speed printing.

About

A newspaper and editorial text serif by Jonathan Hoefler, Tobias Frere-Jones and the H&Co studio. It was engineered with publishers in mind, drawn in four grades that anticipate ink gain on different papers and presses so the type holds its colour from broadsheet to glossy. Roman, bold and italics in each grade make it a complete editorial workhorse for newspapers, magazines and long-form digital text.

Classification

A newspaper and editorial text serif engineered for high-speed printing on uncoated stock, drawn in four grades to compensate for ink gain and press conditions.
