Hurme FIN 1a Extended specimen from Hurme Design

A monolinear grotesque in the extended width cut, offering eight weights with obliques as part of a nine-width, 144-style superfamily.

About

The Extended variant sits near the wider end of the Hurme FIN 1a width axis, which runs from Compressed through to Expanded across nine distinct widths. Horizontal stroke terminals and short ascenders and descenders give the design a clean, utilitarian quality, and optically adjusted obliques accompany each of the eight weights from Hairline to Black. Purchasing the Extended also grants access to the corresponding FIN 1b weights, which swap in angular and slab-serif-inflected alternates as default characters.

Classification

A simplified monolinear sans-serif with horizontal stroke terminals and short ascenders and descenders, placing it firmly in the grotesque tradition. The design spans a large width axis across nine variants.
