Part of the large Hurme FIN system spanning nine widths from Expanded to Compressed, FIN 1b Compressed is distinguished from its FIN 1a counterpart by defaulting to angular, monospace-inspired characters with slab-serif details, positioning it as a transitional design between Hurme FIN Mono and the more conventional grotesque FIN 1a. Eight weights from Hairline to Black each come with an optically adjusted oblique, totalling sixteen styles in this compressed variant. Purchasing FIN 1b includes the equivalent FIN 1a weights at no extra cost, and both share the same OpenType feature set including small caps, oldstyle figures and stylistic alternates.
