A Granjon-inspired old-style serif in four weights with true italics, part of the broader Allrounder superfamily designed to pair with Allrounder Grotesk.

About

Rooted in Moritz Kleinsorge's revival study of Robert Granjon's Ascendonica Romain from 1567, Allrounder Antiqua evolved beyond strict historical revival into a contemporary old-style serif with classical proportions. Four weights from Book to Bold come with corresponding true italics and a thorough OpenType feature set including small caps, six figure sets, swash alternates and support for over 200 Latin-based languages. Shared vertical metrics and colour with Allrounder Grotesk make the two families directly interchangeable within the same layout.

Classification

Described explicitly as an old-style serif, rooted in a revival of Robert Granjon's 'Ascendonica Romain' from 1567, placing it firmly in the Renaissance/Garalde tradition.
