Kisba Nova Text specimen from Identity Letters

A text-optimised optical size of Kisba Nova, pairing sharp wedge serifs and spiky spurs with soft ball terminals across seven weights for body copy between 9 and 18pt.

About

Kisba Nova Text reduces the headline subfamily's dramatic contrast and widens letter proportions and spacing to sustain legibility at smaller sizes without losing the family's defining character. The mix of sharp wedge serifs, spiky spurs and round ball terminals gives it a restless visual energy unusual in a text face. Around 600 characters per weight cover extended Latin and Greek, with OpenType features including oldstyle and lining figures, a large ligature set, case-sensitive forms and discretionary ligatures.

Classification

The typeface combines wedge serifs and spiky spurs with ball terminals and neoclassical stroke contrast, placing it firmly in the neoclassical or contrast serif tradition, with display-derived DNA adapted for text setting.
