Snare
In-House Intl · Alexander Wright, In-House International, Rodrigo Fuenzalida · 2021

A stencil-inflected variable display typeface with angled cuts and shifting character heights that create a syncopated, drumbeat rhythm across words.
About
Designed by Alexander Wright and In-House International, Snare uses angled section breaks and variable heights to give each character its own internal logic while keeping its footprint constant. As heights shift, unique crossbars, periscoping capitals and deep descenders emerge, producing a visual rhythm that grows more pronounced the more extreme the settings. The family ships in ten standard weight-as-height variants in OTF and as a variable TTF, with one uppercase alphabet and two lowercase variants.
Classification
Snare is a display typeface with stencil-like angled cuts and variable heights, giving it a distinctly expressive, experimental character that places it firmly in the display category.
