II Balfron specimen from Increments

A single-weight, all-caps display typeface referencing Ernö Goldfinger's brutalist Balfron Tower in east London, with angular forms set on a rigid structural grid.

About

Drawn on a strict structural grid, the letterforms use unexpected angles to echo the raw concrete geometry of Goldfinger's Poplar housing block. There is one weight and no lowercase, making it a committed display choice rather than a workhorse. At large scale the architectural rigidity reads as commanding; at small sizes the effect collapses, as the foundry freely acknowledges.

Classification

An all-caps, single-weight display typeface inspired by brutalist architecture, with angular geometric forms set on a rigid structural grid. Its monumental scale and architectural reference place it firmly in the display category.
