Part of Indian Type Foundry's ambitious Kohinoor project, this Malayalam companion covers five weights from Light to Bold without italics, following the conventions of the script. It sits alongside siblings for Kannada, Telugu, Bangla, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Devanagari, Tamil and Arabic, making it a practical choice for multilingual South Asian publishing and interface work. The weight range gives sufficient flexibility for body text and headline use within Malayalam-language contexts.

Kohinoor Malayalam is a humanist sans-serif designed for the Malayalam script, part of a large multi-script Kohinoor family spanning Indian and Arabic writing systems. The letterforms follow the organic curves of the Malayalam script while maintaining consistency with the broader Kohinoor family aesthetic.
