A contemporary display serif drawing on 17th and 18th century English typefaces, particularly Caslon and the Fell Types, with deliberate eccentricity and high vertical contrast.
About
Six weights from Light to Black, each with a matching italic, make up a family designed for titles and logotypes rather than running text. The design takes cues from Caslon and the Fell Types without attempting a strict historical revival, instead pulling forward the open forms, vertical contrast and idiosyncratic rhythm of that period into a more modern register. Works across print and web wherever a headline face with period character is needed.
Classification
Inspired by 17th and 18th century English typography, particularly Fell Types and Caslon, with high vertical contrast and open forms; positioned explicitly as a display-exclusive family rather than a text typeface.
