JT Peleton specimen from July Type

A wedge serif with three optical sizes, drawing on the incised letterforms of 19th-century monument inscriptions for use across text, headline and poster settings.

About

Three optical sizes, Text, Headline and Poster, each tuned to their respective scale: generous proportions and open spacing for running text, sharper contrast for display use, and tight letter-spacing for maximum impact at poster sizes. Cyrillic support extends the family's reach, and a variable font covers both weight and optical sizing axes in one file. Alternative glyphs for A, M, g, 5 and the Cyrillic б add typographic flexibility.

Classification

JT Peleton is a wedge serif, a genre with roots in 19th-century incised and lapidary letterforms. Its triangular wedge serifs and high contrast distinguish it from both slab and traditional bracketed serifs.
