The third typeface collaboration between Karel Martens and Jungmyung Lee, Ticker is an elementary modular system in which letterforms shift across three behavioural modes: vertical to horizontal, diagonal to reverse, and clock-like rotation. Each behaviour is a distinct style, with the variable font allowing continuous transition between states via a slider. Designed for colour layering, overprinting and pattern-making, it is conceived explicitly as a playground rather than a workhorse text face.
