A large grotesque family rooted in the lettering of antique Norwegian medicine bottle labels, expanded across seven widths and seven weights with full italic coverage and variable font support.
About
Drawn from the commanding, quirk-filled uppercase lettering found on old Norwegian apothecary labels, Apotek has been developed into a vast system spanning Compressed through Extended widths, ExtraLight through Black weights, and matching italics throughout. The family is available as static fonts and as variable fonts with continuous axes for both width and weight. OpenType features include Rounded and Bowed alternates that bring the source material's idiosyncratic warmth closer to the surface.
Classification
A sans-serif with a commanding, characterful personality drawn from antique Norwegian apothecary label lettering; the sturdy uppercase-driven origins and range of widths place it firmly in the grotesque tradition with display leanings.
