Karbon Slab Stencil specimen from Klim Type Foundry

Karbon's geometric skeleton pushed into slab-serif territory with stencilled breaks, fit for industrial and utility-flavoured display work.

About

A stencil slab by Kris Sowersby that takes the spartan geometry of Karbon and adds slab serifs plus a logical pattern of breaks, citing the industrial heritage of stencilled letterforms. Two styles only, Regular and Bold, with no italic. Sits as a display companion to Karbon proper, useful for posters, packaging and signage that wants a mechanical, slightly utilitarian voice.

Classification

Klim classifies it as Modern: Mechanistic/Stencil; extends Karbon's spartan geometric linework into slab-serif territory, with a logical programme of breaks referencing the industrial heritage of stencilled letterforms.
