A Brutalist response to 17th century Fell Types, with sharp vectors and machine-cut precision across seven weights with italics.

About

An old-style serif by Kris Sowersby that takes the Oxford Fell Types as a starting point and recasts their lead-and-antimony texture as deliberately sharp digital vectors. Seven weights run from Thin to Black, all with italics, and a variable weight axis is supplied with the full family. Sits well in art, fashion and editorial work where a serif needs to feel both historic and unmistakably contemporary.

Classification

Klim classifies it as Modern: Oldstyle; a Brutalist response to 17th century typefaces, recasting the lead, antimony and tin of the Fell Types into Bezier curves and sharp vectors determined by machine logic.
