Kurppa Hosk Type · Thomas Kurppa, Jakob Ekelund, Wille Larsson · 2021

An uppercase-only display monospaced typeface built on a 45-degree grid, referencing receipt printing and low-resolution screen type.
About
Designed by Thomas Kurppa, Jakob Ekelund and Wille Larsson between 2021 and 2022, it draws on analogue sources like ticket stubs and receipts alongside pixelated digital lettering from early low-res screens. Outer corners are rounded while inner corners remain sharp, and alternate diacritic forms keep accented characters within the cap height to allow the super-tight line-spacing the design was built for. Three weights run from Light to Bold, with an extensive set of symbols, arrows, currency signs and mathematical characters.
Classification
A fixed-width, uppercase-only typeface designed explicitly for display use, drawing from receipt printing and low-resolution digital screens. Its monospaced structure and grid-based geometry place it firmly in the display mono subcategory.
