About
Grotunda takes the Gothic Rotunda as its starting point, retaining characteristic letterforms such as the lowercase d and decorated capitals while stripping the design back to a single weight with four distinct styles: Regular, Inktrap, Rounded and Squared. The calligraphic texture of the capitals contrasts sharply with body copy and pushes towards deliberate illegibility at smaller sizes, making it best suited to short headlines, keywords and wordmarks. Its 604-glyph set covers Latin Extended-A across 215 languages, with a full suite of OpenType features including stylistic alternates, ligatures and circled numerals.
