Built on classic slab serif proportions with thick bracketed serifs, Samzara departs from convention by matching the thickness of its endings to the thin strokes of the letters, producing letter shapes that are occasionally awkward but distinctly its own. The italic leans at an unusually steep 21° angle while the vertical serifs remain upright, reinforcing the design's resistance to orthodoxy. With 644 glyphs per style, five stylistic sets, discretionary ligatures and alternate forms, the family offers room to customise its character in poster, identity and editorial contexts.
