Released in 2021 and extended in 2023, Zimula spans 27 static styles across Standard, InkTrap and InkSpot subfamilies, all sharing nine weights from Thin to Black. The InkTrap cut uses angular notches that aid clarity at small sizes and read as a decorative detail at display weights, while InkSpot fills those joints for a softer, more irregular texture. A variable font bridges all three styles and a glyph set of 1,011 characters covers ligatures, case-sensitive forms, fractions and five stylistic sets.
Classification
The foundry explicitly classifies Zimula as a Geometric Sans. Its construction is rooted in geometric principles with a warm character, and the three style variants (Standard, InkTrap, InkSpot) all share the same geometric skeleton.
