Congenial specimen from Laura Worthington Design

A 10-weight humanist sans by Laura Worthington, designed as a legible everyday companion to her decorative display library, with calligraphic traces most visible in the heavier cuts.

About

Designed primarily for use on Worthington's own website, Congenial draws on her calligraphic background to introduce subtle hand-drawn character into an otherwise clean sans-serif framework. The family spans Hairline to Black across 20 styles including italics throughout, and features a generous x-height with carefully differentiated letterforms for strong legibility. OpenType features include small capitals, old-style numerals, fractions and superscript, with broad Latin language coverage across European scripts.

Classification

Congenial is a sans-serif with calligraphic underpinnings visible in the heavier weights, giving it the warmth and character differentiation associated with humanist sans designs rather than geometric or grotesque models.
