Leinster Type · Troy Leinster · 2023

A geometric sans by Troy Leinster that derives its contrast from the shapes of letterforms rather than from calligraphic pen models.
About
Ten weights run from a near-zero Hairline to an extreme-contrast Ultra, with the heaviest cuts distributing thin strokes through the interior so letters appear assembled from discrete parts. The contrast logic is neither translation nor expansion but something the designer calls shape-relational, making it unusual among display geometric sans families. Available as a variable font with stylistic alternates including a simplified 'a' and 'g', stovepipe 't', and capital punctuation, it is positioned for fashion, editorial, packaging and identity work.
Classification
Explicitly described as a geometric sans; the contrast system departs from both translation and expansion models, deriving relationships from letterform shapes rather than calligraphic stroke logic.
