Sedgwick
Leinster Type · Troy Leinster · 2023

An upright, unconnected display script by Troy Leinster, drawing on Dutch metal type and civilité forms for fashion branding and short poetic settings.
About
Sedgwick takes its structural cues from Lettergieterij Amsterdam's 1909 Nieuw Javaansch No.1 and the civilité types of the 15th and 16th centuries, arriving as a single upright style with mannered, unconnected letterforms. The lowercase drives a distinctive rhythmic texture, while the uppercase, figures and punctuation introduce unexpected forms suited to word-marks and headlines. OpenType features include stylistic alternates, contextual alternates, ligatures and capital punctuation, offering meaningful compositional control within a single weight.
Classification
An upright, unconnected script drawing on civilité types of the 15th and 16th centuries and a Dutch metal type revival; mannered letterforms with distinct stroke contrast place it firmly in the display script tradition.
