Built around the spontaneous movement of the pen, Nawin uses contextual alternates to introduce subtle variation between repeated letterforms, counteracting the mechanical regularity of digital type. In Arabic, vertical proportion shifts between letters such as Alef and initial Lam create rhythm in running text, while Latin, Greek and Cyrillic achieve similar liveliness through alternate character sets including diacritic variants. The result balances quirk and legibility across five weights, sold separately by script or in combined packs. The family won an ED Award in 2023.
