The Serif axis steps through five named states, each containing visual features that appear only at the designated point along the interpolation, making the variable font behave like a sequence of costume changes rather than a smooth blend. Three stylistic sets give additional control over ornamental details: the default runs pips and lines together, while Solid strips them away and Pipped or Lined isolate each element. The character set covers uppercase, extended Latin diacritics, numerals, currency symbols and punctuation, with a notable asterism and a new asterisk among the highlights.
