Each letter in Eklips is formed by overlapping duplicate outlines that mimic the moment just before totality in a solar eclipse, leaving the reader uncertain whether the forms are lit from left or right. The effect sits somewhere between a classic shadowed face and a stencil, generating a playful perceptual tension that rewards extended reading. Eight weights and scores of stylistic alternates give designers fine control over how far to push that ambiguity.
