Grez
Letters from Sweden · Ulrika Hellberg · 2025

An all-caps display typeface by Ulrika Hellberg, constructed entirely from paper-cut shapes made during a two-week residency in Grez-sur-Loing, France.
About
Each character was cut from black-painted paper using only scissors and a glue stick, with no sketching or ruler allowed, then digitised into a fully functional font. To preserve the handmade variation, each letter ships with four stylistic alternates that randomise as you type. Despite its analogue origins, the family offers broad Latin language support alongside ligatures, mathematical symbols, currency signs and arrows.
Classification
All-caps display typeface constructed from paper-cut letterforms with no drawn sketches or digital construction; the resulting forms are organic and tactile, placing it firmly in the display category with a handcrafted subcategory.
