Inline
Letters from Sweden · Stefania Malmsten, Göran Söderström · 2020

A heavy inline display face by Stefania Malmsten and Göran Söderström, built as a structural counterpart to their script typeface Line, available in three widths and seven optical sizes with a variable font.
About
Conceived as the typographic inverse of Line, a thin graffiti-influenced script, Inline uses counter spaces that correspond directly to Line's varying stroke weights. First deployed as a custom typeface for the SVT documentary Maj 68, it was released commercially in 2020 with 21 styles across three widths, each offering seven optical sizes. A variable font is included, and the Latin character set covers extended European languages.
Classification
A heavy display face with inline counters derived from the stroke weights of companion script Line; the optical sizing system and three widths place it firmly in the display category with a structured, geometric character.
