Raïm
Lift Type · Valerio Monopoli · 2024

A contemporary Didone by Valerio Monopoli, offered in three optical sizes and inspired by the visual culture of wine.
About
Designed by Valerio Monopoli and released in 2024, Raïm spans 36 fonts across Text, Standard and Display optical sizes, each calibrated for different contrast levels and reading distances. A high x-height improves legibility at smaller sizes, while the Display cuts push the characteristic Didone stroke contrast to its expressive limit. The family includes a set of ligatures drawn to resemble vine tendrils, a nod to its winemaking inspiration, alongside fractions, superior and inferior figures, and circled and squared numerals.
Classification
Raïm is explicitly described as a contemporary Didone, exhibiting the high contrast between thick and thin strokes characteristic of the genre, with three optical sizes tuned for different contrast levels.
