Geigy Cond Duplex
Lineto · Robert Huber

A condensed, duplex grotesque by Robert Huber, developed as part of the LL Geigy family, where every weight shares identical character widths to allow weight switching without reflow.
About
Designed by Robert Huber as a technical offshoot of LL Geigy, the Cond Duplex variant applies uniwidth spacing across its five weights from Light to Black, so that switching weight never disturbs the layout. The family draws on the graphic language of mid-century Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical industry print, particularly the Geigy company's distinctive typographic output. Italic companions accompany each weight, and the duplex engineering makes it well-suited to variable font applications where text reflow would otherwise be a problem.
Classification
A condensed grotesque rooted in the visual language of mid-century Swiss industrial and pharmaceutical typographic culture, with the notable technical property of duplex (uniwidth) spacing across all weights.
