LL Bradford Mono
Lineto · Laurenz Brunner · 2018

A single-cut monospaced companion to LL Bradford, carrying the physical character of hot metal type into a fixed-pitch serif format.
About
Drawn by Laurenz Brunner and released by Lineto in 2018, LL Bradford Mono is the fixed-pitch counterpart to the fourteen-cut LL Bradford family, itself developed over a decade with Römische Antiqua (1884) as its primary historical reference. That lineage runs through Plantin (1913) and Times New Roman (1931), and Brunner's aim throughout was to preserve the material presence of hot metal setting in a digital form. The mono cut offers a single Regular weight suited to text-heavy contexts where typewriter or terminal aesthetics are wanted alongside a grounded serif character.
Classification
A monospaced companion to a serif text family rooted in Römische Antiqua and the transitional serif tradition; it carries the typographic character of hot metal type into a fixed-pitch format.
