LL Brown Condensed specimen from Lineto

A condensed companion to LL Brown, Aurèle Sack's geometric sans drawn from the shared heritage of Johnston Sans and Super Grotesk.

About

Published in spring 2022 after Sack revisited an earlier abandoned project, LL Brown Condensed offers six weights from Thin to Black, each with an italic, in a tighter proportion alongside the matching Narrow cuts. The family sits within the broader LL Brown super-family, itself built on the formal principles of Edward Johnston's 1916 Underground lettering and Arno Drescher's 1930 Super Grotesk. Coverage extends to Latin, Cyrillic and Greek, making it practical for multi-script European work.

Classification

Descended from Johnston Sans and Super Grotesk, two canonical geometric sans serifs; the Condensed sub-family maintains the geometric construction and humanist warmth of the parent LL Brown.
