LL Electa
Lineto · Luca Pellegrini · 2026

A rationalized revival of the Olivetti Pica typewriter font, drawn from the metal type bars rather than the softer impressions left on paper.
About
Luca Pellegrini worked directly from the metal type bars of a vintage Olivetti Studio 42 to arrive at sharper, more geometric outlines than the worn impressions typical of digital typewriter revivals. The design foregrounds features that paper could never reproduce cleanly, including perfectly rectangular slab serifs and precise curve dynamics, while the italics draw on separate historical typewriter models rather than the Olivetti source. Three weights, each with italic, stay close enough in tone to read as a typewriter family whilst exceeding anything achievable through manual variation of paper stock and keystroke pressure.
Classification
A monospaced typewriter-style font derived from the Olivetti Pica typeface, featuring rationalized slab serifs and uniform character spacing characteristic of typewriter fonts.
