LL Grey Mono
Lineto · Aurèle Sack · 2018

A monospaced offshoot of LL Grey, carrying the rude stroke endings and idiosyncratic proportions of 19th-century French grotesques into a fixed-width format.
About
Derived from Aurèle Sack's LL Grey, itself born as a diploma project at ECAL in 2004, this mono cut retains the cabaret-like stroke endings that define the French grotesque genre. The fixed-width format makes it well suited to coding environments and screen-based text work where personality is still wanted. It sits within a colour-named trilogy alongside LL Purple and LL Brown.
Classification
A monospaced variant of LL Grey, itself a French grotesque sans-serif. The mono designation and specimen context confirm a fixed-width cut derived from grotesque formal conventions.
