LL Lettera Text specimen from Lineto

A proportional text adaptation of Josef Müller-Brockmann's 1968 Olivetti typewriter typeface, redrawn by Lineto for contemporary typesetting.

About

Originally commissioned by Olivetti in 1968 for use with their golf ball typewriter, the source design was created by Swiss designer Josef Müller-Brockmann. LL Lettera Text is a full proportional reworking of the earlier monospaced version, translating its rational, constructed letterforms into a text family suitable for continuous reading. The result carries the spare, functional character of mid-century Swiss typography without the mechanical constraints of fixed-width spacing.

Classification

Derived from a monospaced typewriter typeface commissioned by Olivetti in 1968, the proportional text adaptation retains the rational, constructed character of mid-century Swiss grotesques.
