LL Supremus
Lineto · Pablo Desportes · 2024

A strictly geometric, modular stencil display typeface in two cuts, designed by Pablo Desportes as a graphic companion to LL Supreme, drawing on Constructivist and Bauhaus precedents.
About
Where Futura Black makes optical concessions to legibility, LL Supremus-A strips those back to pure geometry with a narrow 22-unit stencil bridge for maximum impact at large sizes; LL Supremus-B reintroduces Renner's curvature logic with a 44-unit bridge for regular headline use down to smaller display sizes. Both cuts cover Latin, Cyrillic and Greek, and include a set of Schmuck ornaments adapted from original Futura foundry type once donated by Renner to La Cambre art school in Brussels. Kerning throughout is built on multiples of 11 units, ensuring consistent optical balance between the geometric forms.
Classification
A strictly geometric, modular stencil display typeface referencing the Futura Black lineage and Constructivist type experiments of the 1920s; its two cuts (A and B) are designed solely for headline and display use, ruling out text categories.
